Delivery…

The nurses came and prepped the area so that when the doctor came in, everything would be ready to go. The baby was eager to come — Sandy only had to push 4 times (I think). It was incredible as the doctor delivered the brand new baby. Tiny screams were heard almost immediately as he breathed his first breaths of air. I could feel tears brimming in my eyes, but I made myself pull it together so that I could keep capturing the beautiful moments.

Have you ever watched the birth of a baby?

This is daddy cutting the umbilical cord, btw.

Congratulations Stacey! I got to photograph 3 births a couple of years ago, though none were in the hospital and it was so amazing! I’m so excited to shoot my twin sister’s birth later this year!!

These shots are fascinating to me, because I’ve never seen what happens immediately after the baby is born. I’ve never seen that super-wrinkly skin, or all the cheesy stuff the baby is covered in. I only see baby when she/he is all cleaned off and wrapped up. Anyway, this really makes me want to have you photograph my next birth (who knows when that will be).
Btw, who is the doctor?
